The Responsible Mica Initiative is a coalition that promotes sustainable mica supply chains in India and Madagascar.

This role will support the growth of our activities in India, focusing on strengthening upstream supply chain actors towards sustainability.

Missions and Responsibilities:

  • Supply Chain Sustainability Management: Establish gap assessments of Indian mica processors and mines versus our Global Workplace Standard (GWS), design Corrective Action Plans, and support implementation and follow-up.
  • District Level Advocacy in Rajasthan: Build and maintain a network with local district governmental officers/authorities, update them on our progress and planned activities, and report challenges.

Profile:

  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Passionate about social, economic, and environmental change; humble, persevering, excellent interpersonal skills, analytical capabilities, problem-solving skills, ability to work proactively and independently, fluency in English and Hindi, high level of integrity and ethical standards.
  • Education & Desirable Experience: Master's degree in International Development, Business, Engineer/Mining, Social Auditing or related field, demonstrated experience in supply chain social and environmental auditing, sustainability standards, and mining standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Gap assessment of mica processors and mines against our GWS.
  • CAP development and implementation support.
  • Collective third-party audit protocol coordination.
  • Liaison with external auditing companies.
  • Training content development for auditors on our standards.
  • Facilitating in-person training sessions on responsible workplace standards.
  • Quality check on audit reports.
  • Data analysis and presentation building.
  • Support to the Manager in other locations if needed.
  • Sharing updates with the team.

Ability to travel in other districts is key. Tenacious, pedagogue, team player, good reporting capacity, good IT skills, good presentation skills, and good oral and written communication skills are required.
