Job Title: Regional Sales Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Sales Manager to drive sales growth, achieve revenue targets, and ensure the successful promotion and distribution of pharmaceutical products in the region. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Indian pharmaceutical industry, customer segments, and customer behavior.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly and annual sales data for each product and territory, adjusting and allocating targets to regions and sales representatives based on feasibility.
  • Review and analyze the performance of the sales team, participating in strategic discussions during regional sales meetings and cycle meetings conducted by the Product Management Team.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to provide inputs for brand strategy development, ensuring the execution of the brand strategy by the sales team and proposing ideas for special promotions to senior management for approval.
  • Manage customer relationships, maintaining relationships with key customers and opinion leaders, conducting regular visits and communications to strengthen customer rapport.
  • Provide insights for identifying Continuing Medical Education (CME) needs to the management team, coordinating with the team to organize successful CME events for customers.
  • Lead team development, recruit team members, conduct goal setting, and perform regular performance appraisals, identifying training needs and providing development opportunities and necessary coaching.
  • Contribute to new product conceptualization and pre-launch review, as well as new product post-launch audits.

Qualifications:

A graduate degree in any Science stream along with an MBA, with a minimum of 10-15 years of experience in sales and marketing, and at least 2 years of experience as a Regional Sales Manager in a pharmaceutical company in a specific area of specialty.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Deep understanding of the Indian pharmaceutical industry, customer segments, customer behavior, and competition.
  • Proficiency in sales forecasting to predict market demand and allocate resources effectively.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical products and technology.
  • Ability to analyze sales data, track performance metrics, and generate reports to measure the effectiveness of sales strategies.
  • Understanding of statutory and regulatory guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Zeal to coach and mentor.
  • Adept at problem-solving and making data-driven decisions.
  • Good at building and leveraging relationships.
