Optimize Performance of Next-Generation Servers

Job Description:
  • We are looking for a technical leader to optimize performance of next-generation servers for cloud and enterprise customers.

The ideal candidate will lead the team to optimize workloads for throughput and latency by identifying opportunities across all parts of system architecture, spanning application and related frameworks, Java Virtual Machine, operating system, hypervisor, network and storage drivers, BIOS, CPU core, memory & I/O subsystems.

You will collect and analyze performance profiling data and traces from customer deployments of next-generation servers to quantify and isolate performance bottlenecks.

The insights gained will be shared to help drive features into the next generation of GPU s and software stack components.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Establish and maintain technological leadership position.
  2. Act as a technical leader across project and departmental boundaries and have a proven track record for sustained innovation.
  3. Be responsible for projects or processes of significant strategic or commercial importance and for project/program results.
  4. Deal with problems requiring cutting-edge approaches and champion innovation across the organization.
  5. Making technical decisions that have a significant impact on product families, go-to-market strategies, and customer satisfaction.
  6. Have business and technical time horizon of generally 6 to 18 months.
  7. Accountability on project execution with significant influence on project/product time-to-market schedules.
  8. Provide consultative direction with senior management.
  9. Coach and mentor experienced staff.
  10. Represent AMD to the outside technical community, partners, and vendors.
  11. Work closely with other team members to understand design architecture and propose solutions to improve/enhance performance with given SoC/IP and markets.
  12. Micro-benchmarking, analyzing, and tracing various benchmarks, workload characterization, competitive analysis on various hardware platforms, identifying bottlenecks, and proposing feedback and solutions for performance improvement.
  13. Develop tools and methodology for performance modeling, workloads analysis.
  14. Propose, communicate, and implement solutions to issues.
  15. Lead technical teams, participate in, and present executive reviews on product planning and execution.
  16. Participate in collaborative development and workload performance optimization with AMD s partners/customers.
