Amazon is a global leader in digital payments, and our team is driving innovation in this space.

We manage payments for the JP Stores business through payment acceptance and the paying customer experience for both credit cards and non-card payments. The payment instruments include all Amazon-branded payment products, such as co-branded Credit Cards, Shop with Points, and the suite of Gift Cards.

Our plan is to build a no-friction, competitively priced payment solution, which enables industry-leading conversion lift with Alternate Payment Methods and Buy with Prime. For buyers, we're building Amazon proprietary payment methods, including the Amazon Store Card and Amazon Gift Card, and industry-leading installment rates.

In Japan, we're focused on increasing eWallet usage in line with the government drive to achieve a cashless vision. We're providing a full suite of payment and financial services, driving awareness and adoption of Installments Buy-Now-Pay-Later to drive affordability for customers, and expanding the options for Shop with Points.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop strong partnerships with cross-functional teams across Amazon.
  • Envision and own the long-term architecture for JPP and APay.
  • Champion and bridge the learning and successes in JPP and deliver them to other regions.
  • Play a key role in building a public policy and influencing the program to help create a unified, government-backed digital payment system in Japan.
  • Deliver new innovation for the current JPP portfolio of services, such as e-wallet, installments, and Shop with Points.
  • Lead innovation initiatives to explore our 1P e-Wallet vs 3P.
  • Provide technical expertise and contribute ideas and insights to develop PRFAQs to introduce 1P e-Wallet product in JP.
  • Work with leaders across Payments team to review proposals and seek incremental investments.
