Job Description

The Senior Team Lead – Controls will be responsible for leading a dynamic team of engineers in designing and implementing advanced control systems for large-scale Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) and Parcel Handling Solutions.

  • Manage and mentor a team of 15+ Controls Engineers, ensuring skill and competency development.
  • Collaborate with Sales Engineering, Project Management, Service, and R&D teams as a consultant.
  • Monitor project risks and opportunities, driving improvements across teams.
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Leading daily resource allocation, hiring, and subcontracting activities.
  2. Identifying training needs and implementing structured training programs.
  3. Troubleshooting and resolving control system issues to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  4. Providing technical oversight during commissioning and ensuring smooth customer handovers.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing 15+ engineers.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in global, high-demand project environments.
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities with a focus on delivery within time and budget.
Technical Expertise

A strong background in Siemens PLC is mandatory, with Allen Bradley PLC being a plus. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in designing and executing integrated control systems.

  • Ability to align control designs with mechanical, electrical, and software project goals.
  • Skilled in preparing and executing detailed project plans and schedules.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering (or related field), with 10–12 years of experience in PLC programming.

  • Prior experience in Airport Baggage Handling Systems or Parcel Handling Solutions is strongly preferred.
