System Administrator Position

We are seeking an experienced Linux administrator with 4–8 years of hands-on expertise in managing physical and virtual server environments.

The selected candidate will be responsible for providing third-level technical support, managing daily compute operations, and performing server lifecycle tasks.

This role requires a strong understanding of Linux OS operations, including LVM, DNS, LDAP, and IPTables. Experience in server installation, maintenance, monitoring, and decommissioning (physical & VM) is also essential.

Proficiency in hypervisor operations (XEN and VMware) and working knowledge of at least one public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP) are required. Additionally, familiarity with GitHub and Jira is preferred.

The ideal candidate should have a strong ability to troubleshoot server downtime issues and physical server management. They should also be able to transfer knowledge to second-level support teams.

Besides technical skills, the candidate should be able to provide excellent customer service, work effectively in a team environment, and maintain high levels of productivity.

This position involves various responsibilities, including:

  • Provide third-level technical support in alignment with customer SLAs.
  • Manage daily compute operations (Events, Incidents, Service Requests, Change Requests, RCA) in line with ITIL processes.
  • Perform server lifecycle tasks: installation, maintenance, monitoring, decommissioning, and special configurations beyond automation.
  • Handle storage operations (NetApp-NFS).
  • Manage packages, repositories, and OS images.
  • Execute patch management using BladeLogic Automation.
  • Configure and roll out server monitoring and alerts.
  • Conduct performance testing and analysis.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for customer incidents.
  • Prepare documentation, testing reports, quality reviews, and knowledge transfer material.
  • Support second-level teams with complex technical tasks.
  • Participate in On-Call support, including weekends and public holidays, as per project requirements.
