Linux System Administrator Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Linux administrator to lead our team's infrastructure and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain Red Hat OpenShift clusters, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Provide expert-level support for incidents and problems related to OpenShift, troubleshooting complex issues and performing root cause analysis.
  • Optimize the performance of OCP clusters, implementing best practices for resource allocation and management.
  • Implement security policies and ensure compliance with organizational standards, performing regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for routine tasks and deployments, utilizing tools like Ansible, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of the OCP environment and processes, providing training and mentorship to junior administrators and other team members.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise:

  • At least 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure and operations.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux administration, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise:

  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or similar.
  • Understanding of network configurations, load balancing, and firewall management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
