Technical Leadership Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Software Engineering Leader. We are seeking a highly experienced professional with a strong background in software development and technical leadership.

• Leverage your expertise to drive technical direction, feedback, and suggestions to ensure high-quality deliverables according to industry standards.
• Provide technical guidance across the end-to-end delivery and run lifecycle, utilizing your skills and expertise to carry out software development, testing, and operational support activities.
• End-to-end accountability for products or services, identifying and developing technology solutions to meet customer needs.
• Address existing technical engineering debt and drive digital transformation by working closely with various parties, including business, subject matter experts, and solution architects globally.
• Liaise with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to understand and drive product or service direction.
• Establish a digital environment and automate processes to minimize variation and ensure predictable high-quality code and data.
• Create technical test plans and records, including unit and integration tests, within automated test environments to ensure code quality.
• Support DevOps teams at all stages of product or service release/change with a strong customer focus and end-to-end journeys.
• Identify and address operational issues (performance, operator intervention, alerting, design defect related issues, etc.) at all stages of product or service release/change.
• Provide support in identifying and resolving incidents associated with IT services, as directed by leadership of the DevOps team.
• Ensure service resilience, sustainability, and recovery time objectives are met for software solutions delivered.
• Automate the continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline within a DevOps Product/Service team driving a culture of continuous improvement.
• Stay up-to-date with current tools, technologies, and areas like cybersecurity and regulations pertaining to data privacy, consent, data residency, etc.
• Work with industry groups/peers and vendors outside of the organization to establish and maintain involvement and influence in the engineering space.
• Promote innovation and adoption of cutting-edge specialist technologies and practices with the domain and across the organization.
• Coach and mentor engineers to promote development through hands-on experience and knowledge sharing.
• Be recognized as an authority for specific engineering disciplines, providing steer/assistance to programs or projects requiring it.

• A minimum of 17 years of hands-on software development experience, with a strong background in full-stack development.
• Demonstrable technical capabilities, including API, microservices, Java, web-based technologies, ReactJS, database, artificial intelligence, etc.
• Experience with cloud-native development and public cloud providers like GCP or Azure.
• Implementing customer-facing applications.
• Strong understanding of technology and its application, including mobile apps, host-to-host technologies, artificial intelligence, microservices, etc.
• Knowledge and experience in DevOps, Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD), Agile control Framework.
• Presentation to senior stakeholders in both business and technology.
• Leadership capability and experience leading distributed engineering teams encompassing 30+ staff.
• Passion for technology and eagerness to learn and bring new ideas to the team.
• Production support and incident management experience.
• Excellent knowledge of technical environments and setting the way forward in the types of technology looked after.
• Forward-thinking, making decisions based on strategy.
• Strong communication skills to help negotiate, collaborate, present, facilitate, and influence engineering teams, stakeholders, etc.
• Mentorship, talent development, and motivation of staff to reach their optimum performance levels and career development.
