Accounts Payable Specialist Job Description

The primary responsibility of this role is to manage the entire accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with company policies and US regulations.

This position involves reviewing, verifying and processing vendor invoices in a timely manner, ensuring proper approvals and adherence to company policies. The Accounts Payable Specialist will also be responsible for managing and processing payments to vendors, reconciling payments with vendor statements and maintaining accurate records for sales tax and 1099 reporting.

To excel in this role, you should have experience in an accounts payable or related finance role, with a strong understanding of US accounting principles. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks are essential skills required for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing: Review, verify and process vendor invoices in a timely manner.
  • Payment Processing: Manage and process payments to vendors, reconciling payments with vendor statements.
  • Reconciliation: Maintain accurate records for sales tax and 1099 reporting.
  • Vendor Management: Communicate regularly with vendors to resolve payment inquiries, disputes and other account-related issues.
  • Expense Reporting: Assist in the preparation and review of expense reports.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in an accounts payable or related finance role.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, knowledge of US tax laws and regulations.
