The Role

We seek a highly skilled individual to oversee our manuscript publication process for a prestigious journal. This role involves managing cross-functional teams across peer review, content creation, and video production to ensure timely delivery of high-quality publications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the teams responsible for manuscript publication, including Peer Review Editors, Content Writers, and Video Production staff.
  • Oversee the complete manuscript workflow from peer review to publication, ensuring timeliness, quality, and adherence to journal standards.
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput and reduce publication timelines.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance workflows, productivity, and author experience.
  • Define team performance metrics and departmental goals; monitor progress and ensure accountability.
  • Maintain scientific rigor and editorial excellence in all published content, aligning with our organization's standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging research trends and identify new journal sections or special issues as needed.
Requirements
  • A Master's or Ph.D. in life sciences is required.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in academic, scientific publishing, or edtech content production, specializing in managing publication workflows.
  • 7+ years of proven management experience.
  • Strong understanding of peer review, open access trends, and evolving scientific publishing models.
  • Experience with digital publishing technologies, Content Management System (CMS), and workflow automation tools.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating technology and digital tools to improve publishing workflows, quality, and efficiency.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong communication skills are essential.
  • A self-starter with a results-driven mindset who thrives in a fast-paced environment is ideal.
