Electron Optics Expert

We are seeking a highly experienced Electron Optics Expert to join our founding team. This is a rare opportunity to shape the electron-optical column, source, lenses, detector coupling, and imaging quality for reliable, high-resolution performance.

As part of our team, you will be responsible for architecting and aligning the column for high-resolution, low-drift performance. You will establish practical tuning workflows for production and service, translate optics theory into tolerances, calibration routines, and alignment jigs that are repeatable outside the lab.

You will co-design with Electronics to ensure deterministic beam control and with Software to expose intuitive imaging controls. You will build and maintain the calibration playbook - resolution, magnification, distortion - and train others to run it.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience in electron optics, hands-on with alignment, vacuum hardware, and lab metrology. They will be comfortable moving between modeling (their solver of choice), bench work, and factory documentation. A clear communicator who can turn complex optics into simple, teachable procedures.

We will know it's working when we see consistent high-resolution images with minimal retuning, repeatable calibration across builds and over time, and fast diagnosis and recovery when alignment drifts.
