Lead Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Lead Database Administrator. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in PostgreSQL DBA and a deep understanding of database security and compliance best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot complex database issues and ensure high availability of systems.
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust monitoring and alerting systems to prevent downtime and data loss.
  • Optimize database performance by tuning queries, indexes, and vacuuming processes.
  • Manage backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure database schema and design align with application requirements.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of hands-on PostgreSQL DBA experience in production environments.
  • Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, architecture, and tuning.
  • Strong expertise with HA and replication solutions.
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, shell scripting, and automation.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a 24x7 production support environment.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with logical replication and foreign data wrappers.
  • Familiarity with cloud-managed PostgreSQL services.
  • Mastery of connection pooling and proxy tools.
