Electrical Design Lead

Job Description:

Our organization seeks a skilled Electrical Design Lead to oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of electrical systems for semiconductor capital equipment.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in control systems, drive selection, and safety compliance. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to capture and clarify technical requirements and load/motion integration for new and existing projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Collaborating with industrial I/O systems; familiarity with B&R PLCs is an advantage.
  • Contributing to risk assessments per SEMI S14, EN ISO 13849, and SIL/PL standards.
  • Designing AC/DC power distribution systems compliant with NFPA 79, SEMI S22, and relevant UL standards.
  • Preparing and maintaining electrical schematics, I/O lists, cable routing diagrams, and BOMs using SolidWorks Electrical.
  • Managing and maintaining product data in PLM systems.
  • Providing hands-on troubleshooting support for control panels, drives, and I/O systems.

The selected candidate will also mentor junior engineers and share best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in electrical design for industrial automation, preferably in semiconductor capital equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of drive selection, motor sizing, and motion control principles.
  • Experience with SEMI S14 risk assessment, EN ISO 13849, and SIL/PL compliance.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD; strong knowledge of PLM systems.

Preferred Skills:

  • Basic PLC programming knowledge: experience with B&R and Siemens PLCs is an added advantage.
