Senior Oracle Database Migration Specialist

This key role requires a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in leading large-scale migrations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive migration strategies to ensure zero/near-zero downtime and high availability/disaster recovery.
  • Pilot database migrations across various platforms, including Exadata, ExaCC, AWS, Azure, and RDS.
  • Craft and implement delta data synchronization strategies for near-zero downtime migration.
  • Maintain database performance monitoring, health checks, proactive alerting, migration tracking, and validation using Oracle Enterprise Manager.
  • Collaborate with cloud architects, infrastructure teams, and application owners to facilitate smooth migration with minimal business disruption.
  • Document migration runbooks, rollback procedures, and knowledge transfer.

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of Oracle Database experience, with 5+ years in leadership/managerial roles overseeing database migration programs.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale Oracle migrations in multi-cloud, Exadata, and ExaCC environments.
  • Strong experience with Oracle Exadata administration, migration, and performance tuning, as well as Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) implementation and management.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native database solutions in AWS (RDS, EC2, S3) and Azure (Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Recovery Vaults).
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
