Job Title: UK Mortgage Underwriter

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver a seamless service to brokers and partners by taking ownership of mortgage applications, from initial submission to offer.
  • Review and screen residential owner-occupied and buy-to-let mortgage applications to understand the customer and application type, ensuring the correct packaging requirements are set.
  • Apply a future-thinking approach by anticipating the needs of the underwriter, using lending policy to ensure cases meet packaging guidelines.
  • Be responsible for data quality, identify and correct inaccuracies, including customer personal data, property portfolio, and income and commitments, setting up mortgage applications for success.
  • Regularly review mortgage applications against agreed deadlines to progress cases in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Review packaging documents once received, ensuring they meet relevant requests, checking documents, validating data, and updating system information through received documents or third-party websites and systems.

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to review and screen mortgage applications.
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with brokers and partners.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
