About This Role

This is an Associate position within a leading Financial Institutions sector team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. We conduct comprehensive credit research across the corporate capital structure.
  2. Our team works closely with senior analysts in covering the Financial Institutions sector, analyzing and explaining economic, competitive, and political drivers that impact borrower credit quality.
  3. We contribute trade ideas and engage in discussions with portfolio managers, participate in relative value and trade structuring conversations.
  4. Interactions take place with management teams, industry sources, other analysts, sell-side analysts, and investment professionals.
  5. We assimilate and filter various information sources to develop long-term, well-researched investment theses on credits, sectors, and issuers.
  6. Historical and projected financial models are created, key financial and operational metrics analyzed, and deep valuation developed.
  7. Credit opinions and investment recommendations are communicated orally and in writing to Portfolio Managers, other analysts, credit and advisory committees, and external clients.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in credit/financial statement analysis is required, with specific expertise in analyzing companies, fixed income securities, and equity investments.
  • Domain experience in Banking or a similar industry is mandatory.
  • An MBA or equivalent qualification in Finance with superior academic credentials; CFA certification will be advantageous.
  • Advanced financial analysis and modelling skills are essential, with specific expertise in one of several areas: analyzing companies, fixed income securities, or equity investments.
  • Strong Excel, financial modelling, and analytical skills are necessary.
  • A keen enquiring mind with a logical and thorough work ethic is desired.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment is crucial.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
