We are seeking a highly skilled legal professional to join our team as an Agreement and Contract Drafting Lawyer. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various agreements and contracts related to the bank's business operations. Key responsibilities include drafting and reviewing agreements and contracts, negotiating contract terms with counterparties, providing legal advice to business teams, conducting due diligence on counterparties, collaborating with business teams, staying up-to-date with regulatory changes, maintaining records and documentation, and managing litigations.

Responsibilities:
  • Drafting and Reviewing Agreements and Contracts: Prepare, review, and finalize various agreements and contracts, including loan agreements, security agreements, and other commercial contracts.
  • Negotiating Contracts: Negotiate contract terms with counterparties, ensuring that the bank's interests are protected.
  • Providing Legal Advice: Provide legal advice to business teams on contract-related matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Conducting Due Diligence: Conduct due diligence on counterparties and review documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborating with Business Teams: Work closely with business teams to understand their needs and provide tailored legal support.
  • Staying Up-to-Date with Regulatory Changes: Stay current with changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards and advise the business teams accordingly.
  • Maintaining Records and Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of agreements, contracts, and other legal documents for internal use.
  • Litigation Management: Manage litigations, including drafting replies to notices, written statements, and interacting with advocates.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: LLB or equivalent degree from a reputable law school. Added CS degree is an advantage.
  • Experience: At least 7 years of experience in drafting and reviewing agreements and contracts, preferably in a banking or financial institution.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of contract law, banking regulations, and financial laws.
  • Skills: Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Certifications: Certification in contract drafting or a related field is an added advantage.
