Network Engineer - Data Center Expert

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support and manage our data center environment, with a focus on Cisco Tetration platform operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Level 2 operational support for Cisco Tetration, including day-to-day monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network infrastructure.
  • Assist in the configuration and deployment of Cisco Tetration components and sensors to ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Support the implementation of application segmentation and micro-segmentation policies across the data center environment to enhance security posture.
  • Analyze telemetry data to ensure network visibility, security compliance, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot policy conflicts and application visibility issues, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal disruption.
  • Assist with upgrades, patches, and performance tuning of the Tetration platform to maintain optimal functionality.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and support logs related to Cisco Tetration operations, facilitating knowledge sharing and improvement.
  • Escalate complex issues to L3/engineering teams as necessary, following incident management protocols to ensure timely resolution.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 7-8 years of total experience in Network Engineering or IT Infrastructure roles.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience with Cisco Tetration platform in operational environments.
  • Strong knowledge of network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP/OSPF), VLANs, ACLs, and firewalls.
  • Working knowledge of data center infrastructure, virtualization (VMware), and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with application traffic mapping, segmentation, and policy enforcement using Cisco Tetration.
  • Familiarity with network and security best practices, compliance, and audit reporting.
  • Good communication skills to work effectively in a distributed and remote support model.
Preferred Skills:
  • Exposure to automation tools like Python or Ansible for Tetration integration.
  • Understanding of REST APIs, telemetry data, and policy modeling in Tetration.
  • Experience working with enterprise-scale micro-segmentation or zero-trust architectures.
