Job Title: Data Governance Expert

We are seeking a skilled data governance professional to join our organization.

  • Data Governance Responsibilities:
  • Data Governance Analyst will manage the data governance needs of various business units, including development and maintenance of data dictionary and glossaries, data lineage, data and metrics definitions, usage guidelines, user access controls, etc.
  • The ideal candidate will provide guidance to data consumers and SMEs to define clear and consistent data definitions, proper usage, data lineage, and metadata.
  • This role involves performing data profiling and database structure/model research on HR data systems to understand relevant data elements along with their definitions and use.
  • The Data Governance Analyst will participate in data governance policy and standard creation, management, and analyzing potential impacts of policy choices under consideration.
  • Additionally, this role requires documenting and maintaining data standards, partnering with functional and business data owners to map existing data structures, usage, and common definitions.
  • The expert will design, build, and execute efficient and accurate control structures to assess data quality and compliance with data governance policy.
  • This position involves providing consultative support for data consumers and clients, advising on policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • The Data Governance Analyst will drive and measure adoption of data governance focused policy related documents and ensure compliance.
  • Maintaining awareness of current trends and best practices related to data governance and data quality is essential for this role.
  • This position requires ensuring all data privacy and information security requirements are considered in the evaluation of all requests; determining when requests will need to be escalated for approval and facilitating the approval process.

About You

  • You have a background in computer science, information systems, statistics, business administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, data stewardship, or any related field is required.
  • Exposure to HR & Finance data (Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, etc.) is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, statistics, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Basic proficiency in SQL for data profiling and analysis is necessary.
  • Understanding of database structures and modeling concepts, data governance framework, and best practices is essential.
  • Familiarity with data governance tools and technologies is required.
  • Experience in Business Intelligence Tools such as Power BI is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task and prioritize work is necessary.
  • Able to self-start and work independently on different projects, and execute across boundaries in a fast-paced, highly-iterative environment.
  • Excellent English language skills (both written & spoken) are required.
  • Able to communicate complex thoughts clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent customer service skills; comfortable interacting with all levels of management, able to forge strong working relationships across multiple functions and time zones.
  • Curious learner, eager to adapt and try new things.
  • Able to effectively handle and maintain confidential and sensitive information.
