Job Title: Principal Programmer

Purpose:

The primary function of the Principal Programmer is to provide programming support across a range of projects and clients, focusing on statistics and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for manipulating large databases and generating reports to facilitate data-driven decision-making. Excellent SAS and SQL programming skills are essential, along with the ability to implement complex logic and create high-quality datasets from various sources.

  • Proficiency in R programming is highly desirable.
  • Experience in therapeutic areas is not required, but familiarity with rare diseases is a plus.
  • Real-world healthcare claims database experience is mandatory, with equivalent EU database experience acceptable.
  • OMOP-Common Data Model experience is highly beneficial, even with limited exposure.
  • Strong SQL querying and extraction skills are critical.

Technical Requirements:

Proficiency in R and SQL programming is essential, with expertise in Oncology databases such as Flatiron and COTA highly valued. A good understanding of Oncology-specific analyses, including Line of Therapy algorithms and Survival analysis, is also necessary.

General Skills:

  • Effective communication, time management, and documentation skills are crucial.
  • Leadership and collaboration skills are essential for success in this role.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7-8 years of SAS statistical programming experience.
  • Database programming using SQL.
  • Experience with advanced statistical methods, including survival and regression analysis.

Additional Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Training or experience with Python, R, Databricks, or other cloud-based software.
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience is a plus.
