Site Reliability Engineer

Job Description:

  • We are seeking a seasoned Site Reliability Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our production operations group, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our cloud-based services.
  • You will design, develop, and operate SLA, SLO, and SLI of services within the Business Unit, collaborating with developers, product managers, project managers, team leads, security, and QA team members across different locations.
  • Automation of routine manual production/non-production operations using technologies like Ansible and Chef is also expected from this role. Key person responsible for proposing and implementing automation to increase productivity and quality.
  • Continuous improvement of system performance and reliability.
  • Service ownership mindset and proactive reaction to production issues.
  • Proposal of new technologies and tools to improve the development, testing, and production operations process.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in SRE, handling high-traffic production systems independently, troubleshooting, automation, and regular operation.
  • Implementation of Site Reliability Engineering principles regarding performance, reliability, monitoring, and alerting in production environments.
  • Experience in managing large-scale services.
  • Experience in designing and constructing public cloud infrastructure, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
  • Good knowledge of CI/CD/CT pipelines using tools like Jenkins and Bamboo, and version control systems like Git and SVN.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux-based system operation and extensive skills in Linux commands.
  • Hands-on experience in Unix/Linux/Shell/Python scripting.
  • Experience with automation/configuration management tools such as Terraform, Puppet, Chef, and Ansible.
  • Experience in developing and operating systems like Kubernetes, Nginx, ELK stack, Hadoop, and others.
  • Identification of process gaps and recommendation of best practices based on industry standards.
  • Technical expertise on complex automation and functional issues.
  • Flexible emergency support timing based on business requirements.
  • Experience with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, NoSQL databases (Couchbase and Cassandra).
