Maintenance Manager Job Description

The primary objective of the Maintenance Manager role is to oversee the overall maintenance and operation of plant utilities, mechanical, and electrical systems. This involves implementing preventive and corrective maintenance strategies, managing equipment qualification, and ensuring compliance with GMP and safety regulations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the efficient operation of all plant utilities, including boilers, chillers, DG sets, and water purification systems.
  • Overseeing the installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment and systems.
  • Managing HT/LT electrical systems, including transformers, switchgears, panels, cabling, and substations.
  • Coordinating and reviewing project schedules, equipment FAT drawings, BOQs, and vendor documentation.
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with GMP, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Leading site inspections to ensure quality execution and resolving technical issues during installation or operation.
  • Preparing and reviewing maintenance documentation, progress reports, SOPs, and ensuring timely invoice processing.

Key skills required for this role include:

  • Root Cause Analysis: Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve underlying issues in equipment failures and system inefficiencies.
  • CMMS Proficiency: Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems for tracking, planning, and optimizing maintenance activities.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Accuracy in maintaining technical documentation, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance records.
  • Energy Management Awareness: Understanding of energy-efficient practices and optimization of utility consumption.
