Database Migration Leader

We are seeking an experienced Database Migration Leader to lead our database migration program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive database migration strategy, ensuring seamless transition with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, design, and execute Oracle database migrations across various environments, including data centers, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and Exadata/ExaCC ecosystems.
  • Implement backup and recovery solutions using Rubrik and RMAN, ensuring high availability and data integrity throughout the migration process.
  • Design and implement delta data synchronization strategies for near-zero downtime migrations, minimizing service disruptions and maintaining optimal database performance.
  • Utilize Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for proactive monitoring, health checks, and alerting, ensuring prompt identification and resolution of potential issues.
  • Document migration runbooks, rollback procedures, and knowledge transfer to ensure smooth handovers and minimize knowledge gaps.
  • Work closely with cloud architects, infrastructure teams, and application owners to ensure successful migration outcomes and deliverables.

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of Oracle Database experience, with 5+ years in leadership/managerial roles overseeing database migration programs.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale Oracle migrations in multi-cloud, Exadata, and ExaCC environments.
  • Strong experience with Oracle Exadata administration, migration, and performance tuning, as well as Oracle Data Guard setup, switchover, failover, and role transitions.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native database solutions in AWS (RDS, EC2, S3) and Azure (Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Recovery Vaults).
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
