Our organization is seeking a highly accomplished professional to lead the direct tax function across various regions. This role demands extensive knowledge of direct taxation, international taxation, tax audit, advance tax, TDS, and litigation management in respective regions.

About the Role

This role is ideal for a tax expert looking for a challenging position that involves learning about other tax legislations and processes. The successful candidate will have strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, as well as an excellent leadership mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive tax planning strategies for business units to maximize tax savings and benefits.
  • Collaborate with the business to identify and implement tax optimization opportunities.
  • Manage tax controversies effectively.
  • Lead the team in gathering necessary documentation and information for tax returns, tax planning, and tax outflow forecasts.
  • Coordinate with the team, AO, and Commissioner for timely completion of assessments and follow-ups.
  • Ensure timely completion of all litigations within deadlines.
  • Timely and compliant tax filings including payment (ITR, Adv Tax, TP).
  • Analyze various tax treaties and DTAs to assess the taxability of income and manage tax optimization across international projects.
  • Monitor changes in direct tax laws and assess their impact on business operations.

Requirements

  • CA with 15-18 years of experience in tax department of any multinational Company.
  • Experience in EPC sector will be an added advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of Direct Taxes, specially assessment, appeal, TP assessment, ITR, tax audit.
  • Strong written and oral communication skill.
  • Experience of representation before tax authorities.
  • Hands on experience of dealing with auditors and tax consultants.
  • Strong business focus and ability to team up with internal stakeholders.
