Job Description

ThreatXIntel is a startup cyber security company specializing in providing customized, affordable cyber security solutions to businesses and organizations. The company offers services such as cloud security, web and mobile security testing, cloud security assessment, and DevSecOps.

This is a remote, long-term contract position, requiring deep knowledge of database architecture, high availability, and optimization in enterprise environments.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in PostgreSQL, Cloud SQL (MySQL), and advanced SQL performance tuning. They will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining PostgreSQL and Cloud SQL (MySQL) databases.

Responsibilities include performing advanced SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and schema design. They will also manage database upgrades, migrations, patching, and version control.

The candidate will implement and monitor replication, clustering, and failover solutions for high availability. They will ensure database security, compliance, integrity, and backup/recovery strategies.

Collaboration with development teams to optimize SQL queries and improve database architecture is essential. Troubleshooting and resolving database issues, providing on-call support for critical systems, are also key responsibilities.

Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation, including standards, procedures, and architecture diagrams, is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL and Cloud SQL (MySQL) databases.
  • Perform advanced SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and schema design.
  • Manage database upgrades, migrations, patching, and version control.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience:

  • 5+ years of hands-on DBA experience with PostgreSQL.
  • Strong expertise with Cloud SQL (MySQL) and advanced SQL performance tuning.
  • Solid background in Oracle DBA (RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, performance tuning).

Skills:

  • Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems for database administration.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
