Database Administrator Job Description\

The Database Administrator is a crucial role in our organization, responsible for designing, testing, planning, protecting and implementing databases that support our business operations.

As a key member of the senior developers team, you will work closely with them to ensure the successful deployment of database solutions that meet our high standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage database locking, process blocking and performance tuning to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.Create and maintain high availability and disaster-recovery-friendly architectures to minimize downtime and data loss.Develop and implement backup and restoration processes to ensure data integrity and recoverability.Design and develop monitoring and metrics tooling and dashboards to provide insights into database performance and operation.Proactively manage infrastructure to prevent potential issues and mitigate damage from future incidents.Handle support tickets and provide assistance to colleagues as needed.Develop and deploy new database objects and changes to existing database objects, including tables, stored procedures, views, etc.Design, develop and maintain complex relational database reports using SSRS.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Advanced understanding of relational database architecture/infrastructure, specifically MSSQL.Knowledge of SSMS, SSRS and support tooling.Knowledge of T-SQL, Stored Procedures and day-to-day DB functions.Advanced knowledge of how to optimize MSSQL and implement HA/DR.Strong knowledge of systems and software development lifecycles; application integration techniques; and relational database design.Experience with Always On High Availability Groups is a plus.Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and break-down complex problems.Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members.Ability to participate, review and offer constructive criticism to peers' changes and code.Experience with cloud database storage technologies.

Education and Experience:
