Lead Credit Analyst

Job Overview:

A critical position in our organization is available for a seasoned Credit Analyst. This individual will lead a team of underwriters, guiding them through complex lending processes and ensuring seamless collaboration with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the Credit Analyst team to ensure quality underwriting decisions are made timely.
  • Work closely with the Credit Committee to maintain a smooth functioning of the credit function.
  • Monitor team performance, provide training, and mentorship to improve adherence to underwriting quality metrics.
  • Oversee daily underwriting pipelines, balancing workloads and resource allocation efficiently.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for escalated or complex underwriting scenarios, offering guidance and resolving issues promptly.
  • Support underwriters with day-to-day guidance, fostering development, and monitoring team performance.
  • Ensure underwriting decisions align with agency, investor, and company guidelines while supporting risk management and quality control initiatives.
  • Develop process enhancements in the credit function to boost analysis quality and turnaround times.
  • Interact with clients and other stakeholders to gather feedback and adjust team strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with the Data Science team to integrate AI and machine learning into underwriting processes.
  • Work with the Trading team to ensure loans are properly structured for warehouse lines and securitizations.
  • Present select deals to the investment committee for final approval.
Background/Experience:
  • Hold a Master's degree from a prestigious institution with a focus on finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Obtain additional financial certifications, such as US CFA Level 2+ or FRM Level 2.
  • Have experience in credit analysis, particularly in the real estate industry, with exposure to the US market advantageous.
  • Proven track record of leading small teams of skilled analysts.
  • Experience working with US or European clients and managing offshore teams beneficial.
  • Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Exhibit attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
