Key Responsibilities:

Support cross-functional teams with Component Engineering deliverables, including Part creation, SCR Risk Assessment, and PPAP Reliability review.

Collaborate with Engineering and Supply Chain Teams on alternate components for Product Development needs, Part Shortage, Multi-sourcing, and Purchasing strategies.

Analyze Product Bill of Materials (BOMs) for Cost optimization opportunities, Part Lifecycle Risks, and Part Leadtime risks.

Provide complete BOM optimization solutions through better alternate Component solutions for all Forward Model and Pursuit BOMs.

Be accountable for Design for Sourcing (DFS) initiative and manage the DFS initiative through effective cross-functional collaboration.

Explore and assess cost-effective alternate components and drive Ideation for implementation acceptance.

Interact with Semiconductor houses and bring in Technological advancements in Components to Visteon Products.

Component Engineering Competencies:

Strong Technical expertise of all Standard & Advanced Electronic & Electro-Mechanical Components.

Specialization on Automotive grade Components, AECQ Requirements, PPAP-Reliability review, etc.

Strong understanding of Component Life Cycle Status and related business impacts and risk mitigations.

Ability to understand Application requirements and suggest suitable Component solutions.

Strong Analog and Digital Hardware Engineering background to understand the application and circuit needs.

Ability to suggest better/optimized component solutions with a details Specification comparison study.

Value Engineering and Design for Sourcing Competencies:

Value Assessment and Value Engineering (VAVE) Proficiency with prior work experience.

Refer and understand design documents Bill of Materials, Schematics, etc.

Ability to assess & analyze Product Bill of Materials in terms Component Value assessment.

Broad understanding of Cost-effective Components and Component Manufacturers.

Ability to assess risks in terms of Part Lifecycle, Long Lead-time, Single-source, etc. and propose suitable risk mitigation solutions.

Proficient in using third-party tool in assessing current/upcoming lifecycle and other risk associated with Components.

Education, Experience and Other Skills:

Sr.Component Engineer: 10-12 years professional experience in Component Engineering with good Hardware Product Design/Development background.

Bachelor Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering.

Experience in working with Remote/Global teams.

Experience of Product Development process and Product Lifecycle Management.

Strong MS Office proficiency, specifically on MS Excel & its advance skills like Macros/automations.

Strong Business communication skills – Verbal/Written/Presentation.

Design to Cost, Design to Lifecycle and Design to Quality type of experience.

Project Management basics.

Effective Time and task management skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Continuous improvement mindset.

Flexibility in working hours to interact with a global teams.
