Quality Assurance Manager: A Key Role in Laboratory Operations

This position plays a crucial part in ensuring the quality of laboratory services. The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the implementation, upkeep, and ongoing improvement of our Quality Management System within the lab.

The role ensures compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, BIS standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements across all testing and inspection activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the QMS to ensure its compliance to the requirements of:
  • ISO /IEC 17025, ISO 9001 & BIS
  • Accreditation bodies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and ensuring the management system is implemented in various departments and appraising management on its effectiveness.
  • Leading quality audits (internal and external) and managing corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Registering customer complaints and resolving them by organizing investigations, root cause analysis.
  • Training staff on QMS requirements, quality procedures, and testing standards.
  • Conducting periodic quality checks for tests carried out in the lab through appropriate tools like retest, inter-laboratory, intra-laboratory, proficiency tests etc.

Additionally, this role involves:

  • Control of management system documents in the lab.
  • Liaising with accreditation bodies regarding compliance and approval.

Requirements:

  • Education Qualification: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Chemistry, Quality Management, or related field.
  • Relevant Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance or laboratory management, preferably within petroleum or chemical testing services.
  • Expertise at:
    • Strong understanding of ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, and laboratory accreditation processes.
    • Experience with auditing (internal/external) and regulatory compliance.
    • Certified Internal Auditor for ISO 9001 & ISO 17025 is an advantage.
