As a seasoned professional, we are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to oversee the management and support of our MS SQL Database. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation and experience in setting up and maintaining complex database systems, including failover clusters and Always ON configurations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor log files for errors that may result in incidents
  • Ensure database availability through regular monitoring and maintenance
  • Track database log replication to prevent data loss
  • Report on log replication status as per agreed schedules
  • Monitor sessions, queries, logs, and latch performance to optimize database efficiency
  • Proactively identify and address potential failures and logged system events
  • Regularly purge database logs and trace files to maintain optimal performance
  • Review and recommend database configurations to ensure consistency
  • Monthly reports on database availability to stakeholders
Technical Skills & Knowledge
  • Hands-on experience with team management is required
  • Ability to handle major incidents and conduct root cause analysis
  • Expertise in database installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance is essential
  • Experience with Always ON cluster configuration and management is crucial
  • Failover cluster management skills are necessary
  • Patching and failover cluster and Always ON setup experience is required
  • Replication and link server configuration expertise is mandatory
  • Database patching and hardening knowledge is essential

The successful candidate will be able to handle end-to-end major incidents, communicate effectively with customers, and possess experience with job scheduling, maintenance plans, and database migrations.
