Job Title: Data Migration Specialist

Job Description:

The role of a Data Migration Specialist is pivotal in ensuring seamless data transition from legacy systems to target platforms. This involves developing an overall data migration strategy, scope, and roadmap that aligns with program objectives and timelines.

This includes collaborating with stakeholders across business, IT, and external partners to define data requirements, mapping rules, and transformation logic. The specialist will identify data sources, assess readiness, quality, and potential risks.

Execution & Delivery:

The Data Migration Specialist will lead the end-to-end execution of data migration activities across all project phases: extraction, transformation, loading (ETL), validation, and reconciliation. This encompasses managing the migration of master data, transactional data, and historical records from legacy systems to the target platform.

Data Quality and Governance:

The Data Migration Specialist will define and enforce data quality rules, cleansing standards, and validation procedures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of migrated data with regulatory and audit standards.

Stakeholder Management:

The Data Migration Specialist will effectively manage stakeholders throughout the data migration process.

Documentation and Support:

The Data Migration Specialist will provide accurate documentation and support throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in data migration, data integration, or data management roles.
  • Proven experience leading at least one full-cycle data migration for a major ERP, HCM, or CRM implementation.
  • Experience working with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, BAAN etc.
  • Experience with Data migration tools.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, master data management (MDM), and data governance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Project Management Skills.
