The role of the Purchase Executive in the cosmetics and nutraceutical division of a pharmaceutical company involves the timely procurement of raw materials, packaging items, and other consumables required for cosmetic product manufacturing. The position ensures sourcing from approved vendors, maintaining inventory levels, and aligning with production schedules while adhering to regulatory and quality compliance standards.

Key qualifications include:

  • A bachelor's degree in pharmacy, science, commerce, or a related field.
  • Preferred: A diploma or certification in materials management, supply chain, or procurement.
  • Advantageous: A postgraduate degree (MBA in supply chain or operations).

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and sourcing raw materials, active ingredients, fragrances, and packaging items for cosmetics.
  • Raising and managing purchase orders (POs) in line with production and inventory needs.
  • Coordinating with vendors for price negotiations, lead times, and quality compliance.
  • Evaluating vendor performance based on quality, delivery time, and cost.
  • Ensuring adherence to procurement policies, SOPs, and applicable regulatory guidelines (GMP, FDA, etc.).
  • Maintaining records and documentation for audits and quality checks.
  • Collaborating with the QA/QC department to ensure the receipt of materials as per specifications.
  • Tracking and maintaining optimum inventory levels and updating the marg/Inventory Management System.
  • Coordinating logistics and following up for on-time delivery of materials.
  • Supporting in vendor development and alternative sourcing strategies.
  • Assisting in cost-saving initiatives and price benchmarking.

Required skills include:

  • A strong understanding of procurement processes in the cosmetics/pharma industry.
  • Knowledge of raw materials used in cosmetics (e.g., emulsifiers, fragrances, preservatives).
  • Familiarity with GMP, FDA, and cosmetic regulatory requirements.
  • Negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (e.g., Marg).
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Time management and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset and cost-conscious approach.

Language: English, Hindi, and Marathi (Hindi is mandatory, Kannada is optional)
