About the RoleThis position is responsible for preparing basic food items for the menu as requested by their supervisor. As a Line Cook, you will work in any section of a kitchen and have a good understanding of culinary terms.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare high-quality dishes to meet customer expectations.
- Possess advanced knife handling skills and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Work efficiently and productively to meet production demands.
- Follow Public Health standards and expectations within the kitchen.
- Maintain assigned areas for inspections and adhere to company protocols.
- Report for duty at assigned times and follow supervisor instructions.
- Responsible for cost containment through proper use and maintenance of records and supplies.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in upscale hotel, resort, or cruise ship service, with 2 years as Line Cook (shipboard experience preferred).
- Culinary school degree required.
- Strong management skills in multicultural environments.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and people skills.
- Superior customer service, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge of personalized services principles and techniques.
- Planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, controlling, and evaluating skills.
- Intermediate computer software skills required.
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Ability to write reports and establish good rapport with Senior Officers and corporate office.
