Job Description

The role of the Primary Years Teacher (Grade 1-5) is to establish and maintain a thriving learning environment that fosters academic excellence and personal growth through the inquiry-based approach of the IB Primary Years Programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and deliver high-quality lesson plans tailored to meet the diverse needs of students in accordance with the IB PYP curriculum.
  • Inspire mixed ability classes by creating engaging and challenging learning opportunities that cater to the unique needs of all students.
  • Evaluate and monitor student progress, providing targeted feedback to ensure all learners achieve success and improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, ideas and professional knowledge, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents, keeping them informed about their child's progress and well-being.
  • Work closely with the Head of Primary School and PYP Coordinator to ensure seamless delivery of the curriculum, including selecting and managing resources efficiently.
  • Contribute to the school's extra-curricular activities programme and participate in events such as assemblies, evening functions and conferences.

Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in the IB PYP and international exposure.
