Your responsibilities will include product development, qualification, and release, as well as supplier qualification and feasibility studies. You'll also be responsible for providing product documentation, including Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities:

As a Power Solution engineering team member in D&D, you'll be responsible for developing innovative power interconnection solution products used in hyperscale computers, AI, data centers, cloud servers, and other IT systems. Your key objectives will include providing customer innovation solutions, managing engineer documents, and ensuring compliance with TE system procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the complete product development life cycle, from voice of customer to product end of life.
• Build a deep understanding of market and customer needs by fostering connections between business engineering teams and customer engineering teams.
• Work closely with customers, sales, and project managers to get the right and clear voice of customer, make engineering evaluations, and propose solutions to customers.
• Maintain a system-level understanding of customer applications and cable designs to provide solutions that meet customer expectations.
• Follow LEANPD Project Process to support project teams and complete projects on time, quality, and budget.
• Provide technical support to customers, sales, project managers, and plant teams, conducting necessary tests, engineering analyses, troubleshooting, and verification.
• Work with global manufacturing resources, procurement, and outside suppliers to meet TE technical, quality, and cost objectives.
• Introduce breakthrough technologies by partnering with customers and TE Global competency centers to enhance business revenue and growth.
• Apply engineering best practices to reduce costs and sustain existing products to meet customer cost targets.

Must Have Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required, Master's preferred.
• Knowledge of various phases of product realization and product development.
• Knowledge of state-of-the-art design tools, including 3D CAD, modeling, GD&T, electrical and electronic design, and simulation.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, molding, stamping, plating, etc.) and material properties (metal/plastic) will be a plus.
• Knowledge of power distribution systems and connection components.
• Familiarity with power safety standards and agency approvals for power connectors, cables, and cable assemblies.
• Basic FEA simulation skills in mechanical, mold-flow, and thermal analysis.
• Familiarity with quality tools (FMEA, 6Sigma, DOE, 8D) will be a plus.

Critical Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in new product development and 5+ years of experience in product development of connectors, cables, and cable assemblies.
• Connector design background, especially in power, industrial, and auto connectors, will be a plus.
• Experience in power distribution inter/intra systems is required.
• This position requires a highly technical individual who can work independently.
• Experience in product compliance certification (product, safety, environment substance control) and design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA), design for cost (DFC), design for manufacturing (DFM) will be a plus.
