About the Role

At TE Connectivity, we're looking for a talented R&D/Product Development Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll be responsible for conceiving original ideas for new products, introducing them into practice, and developing and qualifying products from market definition through production and release.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in making proposals on products for customers
  • Provide support to senior engineers and supervisors by creating and modifying CAD models and drawings
  • Collaborate with simulation teams and interpret results
  • Create and update product specifications
  • Evaluate the quality of manufactured products and conduct first-article inspections
  • Carry out design change requests and coordinate and resolve technical issues
  • Implement design changes based on DFM review feedback
  • Assist in conducting design verification and refinement of product designs
  • Assist in creating product validation plans, testing, and documentation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in supporting development and product engineering activities
  • Working knowledge of CAD systems, including CREO Part modeling and Sheet Metal
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and product prints
  • Interpretation of simulation results and translation into product design
  • Working knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM) and DFMEA
  • Working knowledge of tolerance stack-up and GD&T
  • Good conceptual, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of product development processes, approaches, tools, and techniques
  • Understanding of linear and non-linear analysis
  • Working knowledge of product life cycle and ability to perform design activities and produce deliverables
  • Basic knowledge of quality tools, including 8D and Why-Why analysis
