Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to oversee our medical coding team.

The ideal candidate will have over 17+ years of experience in medical coding, with a proven track record of managing large teams of coders. They should be certified from AAPC or AHIMA, with strong leadership capabilities, client handling experience, and a deep understanding of the healthcare and medical coding industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the coding unit, including workload and staffing, hiring, disciplining, performance appraisals, training, and quality monitoring.
  • Develop long-range and short-term goals, objectives, plans, and programs, ensuring their implementation.
  • Evaluate innovations and changes in programs, policies, and procedures for the coding unit.
  • Design and implement systems to improve data accessibility, identify problems, assess them, resolve them, and prepare administrative reports.
  • Oversee and monitor coding compliance programs, develop educational and training programs, and ensure dissemination and communication of regulatory, policy, and guideline changes.
  • Conduct and oversee coding audit efforts, coordinate monitoring of coding accuracy, and document adequacy.
  • Report non-compliance issues, nature of corrective action plans, and results of follow-up audits.
  • Conduct trend analyses to identify patterns and variations in coding practices.
  • Review claim denials and rejections related to coding and medical necessity issues, and implement corrective action plans to prevent similar issues.

Requirements:

  • Educational Qualification: Any Graduate (preferably Life Science background)
  • Experience: 17+ years in Multispecialty Coding, substantial team management experience, excellent communication skills, managerial, leadership, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Hands-on experience in generating reports using MS Office - Excel, Word, and MS PowerPoint
