A medical scribe manager is responsible for reviewing physician dictation, transcribing clinical notes into electronic medical records and billing systems, and preparing medical record documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transcribes clinical notes from physician dictation into EMR/Billing systems.
  • Assembles medical record documentation/charts for physicians.
  • Ensures medical record compliance by self-documentation attestation.
  • Updates patient history, physical exam, and other pertinent health information in the patient's chart.
  • Prepares and sends all documentation to physicians for review and approval.
  • Monitors basic lab results and screening procedures.
  • Complies with hospital and medical facility policies, including HIPAA and Joint Commission regulations.
  • Assigns codes to diagnoses and procedures using ICD and CPT codes.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a live medical scriber.
  • Strong administrative writing skills.
  • Effective reporting and organizational skills.
  • Excellent record-keeping skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Professionalism, confidentiality, and organization are essential.
  • Strong typing skills.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Medical coding certification or completion of a relevant program.
  • Bachelor's degree with a pre-health career track.
  • Thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with ICD-X codes and CPT procedures.
