Job Title: Database Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Architect to join our organization. The successful candidate will have experience with Sybase ASE, RS, and IQ architecture, configuration, and performance tuning.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable database configurations, including replication for homogeneous and heterogeneous environments.
  • Automate patch deployments, installations, and routine tasks using shell scripting or other programming languages.
  • Optimize data storage, retrieval, indexing, query performance, and infrastructure to ensure high efficiency.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with application developers and system administrators to enhance database operations and interactions.
  • Develop and implement DR/resiliency strategies and technology evolution initiatives.
  • Manage database migrations and upgrades.
  • Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and handle account management and security parameters.
  • Document database structures and maintain ITIL-based incident/crisis management.
  • Mentor team members and drive project management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • 2-12 years of experience with Sybase ASE, RS, and IQ architecture, configuration, and performance tuning.
  • Proficiency in SQL/T-SQL, index defragmentation, re-indexing, query optimization, and client/server connectivity.
  • Strong experience in automating routine tasks and replication monitoring.
  • Knowledge of cloud integration, shell scripting, and ITIL framework.
  • Excellent problem-solving, team collaboration, and presentation skills.
