Job Title: PostgreSQL DBA cum Developer

We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL professional to join our team in Jaipur, India. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in managing, developing, and optimizing PostgreSQL databases in Linux/openSUSE environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and manage PostgreSQL databases in Linux/openSUSE environments.
  • Design, develop, and optimize database schemas, queries, functions, and stored procedures.
  • Implement TimescaleDB for handling time-series data and ensure optimal performance.
  • Utilize PostgreSQL toolkits and extensions for monitoring, optimization, and automation.
  • Perform performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
  • Ensure database security, backup, recovery, and high availability (HA/DR) strategies.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot database performance and replication issues.
  • Collaborate with application developers for efficient database design and integration.
  • Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, SOPs, and technical guides.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA and Developer.
  • Strong expertise in PostgreSQL administration & development.
  • Proficiency in working on Linux/openSUSE environments.
  • Hands-on experience with TimescaleDB for time-series data management.
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL toolkits and extensions for monitoring and optimization.
  • Experience with database performance tuning, query optimization, and partitioning.
  • Strong knowledge of backup & recovery tools, replication, and clustering.
  • Familiarity with scripting (Shell/Python) for automation.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Good to Have:

  • Exposure to cloud environments (AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure PostgreSQL, GCP Cloud SQL).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for databases.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools like pgAdmin, Prometheus, Grafana.
