Job Title: Chief Loan Strategist

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to head our personal loan vertical.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for profit & loss ownership, designing and executing business strategies, product development, risk management, partnerships, and digital growth in the personal loan segment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Strategy & Growth:
    • Own end-to-end profit & loss for the personal loan business.
    • Define business plans, growth roadmap, and product strategies.
    • Drive customer acquisition through digital, affiliates, partnerships and co-lending partnerships.
    • Identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities within the portfolio.
  • Product & Process Management:
    • Develop innovative personal loan products aligned with customer needs.
    • Optimize loan approval time, onboarding journey, and digital lending processes.
    • Work with technology teams to build seamless digital journeys (app/web).
  • Risk & Credit Management:
    • Collaborate with credit/risk teams to define policies, scorecards, and underwriting models.
    • Monitor portfolio quality, delinquency, and non-performing assets trends.
    • Implement robust fraud detection & collection strategies.
  • Stakeholder & Team Leadership:
    • Lead and build a high-performing sales, product, and operations team.
    • Manage relationships with affiliates, fintech partners, credit bureaus, and lenders.
    • Work closely with regulators, auditors, and compliance teams.
  • Financial & Regulatory Oversight:
    • Ensure compliance with regulations.
    • Drive profitability through sustainable interest income, fees, and cost efficiency.
    • Regularly track performance metrics – disbursements, yields, past due amounts/NPA levels.

Requirements:

  • Education: Master's degree in Business Administration/Chartered Accountant/Finance/Business Management from a reputable institution.
  • Experience: 10–15 years of experience in retail lending, with at least 5 years in personal loans.
  • Proven track record in scaling unsecured loan portfolios in NBFCs/Fintechs/Banks.
  • Strong knowledge of credit policies, regulatory guidelines, and digital lending.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Tech-savvy mindset with exposure to digital loan origination & alternative credit models.
