Job Description

A digital health company enables governments to transform healthcare and provide high-quality services.

You will lead a team of software engineers in designing scalable healthcare claims processing systems. This involves combining technical expertise with exceptional people management skills to build, mentor, and scale high-performing teams.

The successful candidate will:

  • Design and architect reliable, secure, and efficient systems for handling millions of transactions.
  • Lead system design reviews and make technical decisions on complex workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare standards (HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Drive strategy for claims adjudication, provider networks, and member management systems.
  • Collaborate with architects on integration patterns and data optimization.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience with 1+ year in engineering management.
  • Strong system design experience with distributed systems and microservices.
  • Hands-on coding experience.
  • Experience with real-time processing systems and high-volume transaction processing.
  • Track record of successful large-scale system migrations or platform modernizations.
  • Proven track record of scaling engineering teams.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud platforms, databases, and modern engineering practices.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and continuous integration/deployment.

  • Recruiting top engineering talent and managing team capacity.
  • Managing sprint planning and delivery commitments.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with healthcare standards (HL7, FHIR) is highly desirable. Knowledge of healthcare claims workflows and adjudication processes is also an asset. Experience working in regulated industries is preferred but not required.
