We are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Gas Turbine R&D team.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in designing gas turbine combustion and casing components. They should be proficient in CAD software, such as UG-NX, and have excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities
  • Designing gas turbine combustion and casing components, including combustion liners, nozzles, transition ducts, fuel piping systems, exit diffusers, and casings.
  • Applying appropriate methods to ensure robust design, including tolerance stack up, GD&T, analysis, standards, and design rules.
  • Collaborating with FEA analysts, HT engineers, and aero-designers to create and finalize design concepts.
  • Technical checking of engineering drawings/PMI and BOM of gas turbine components.
  • Developing innovative design solutions and controlling the risk of design changes using appropriate methods like FMEA and QFD.
  • Creating, evaluating, and reviewing technical documents, such as purchasing specifications, working specifications, check lists, and standard part calculations.
  • Executing/supporting technical reviews, risk assessments, serviceability, and fault report considerations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's, master's or PhD in mechanical engineering/design from a recognized college/university.
  • At least 7-10 years of work experience with mechanical design exposure in an engineering organization. Experience in gas turbine combustion component design is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical design, strength of materials, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.
  • Desirable to have knowledge of gas turbine combustion principles, thermo-acoustics, aero-design principles, emissions, etc.
  • Basic mechanical integrity knowledge with the ability to perform simple hand calculations.
  • Working experience to apply GD&T and tolerance stack up.
  • Sound knowledge of manufacturing/assembly/fabrication processes.
  • Exposure to CAD software (UG-NX preferred), SAP, PLM, CPD Teamcenter, MS Office.
  • Good communication skills in English language (verbal & written).
  • Strong inter-personal skills, including teamwork, quick learning, imagination, innovation, etc.
