Senior Vacuum Furnace Design Lead

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Lead to drive technical excellence and deliver high-quality projects on time. As a key member of our Engineering & Design department, you will be responsible for driving innovation in vacuum furnace solutions.

  1. Develop and implement technical strategies to address customer specifications and sales offers.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and develop innovative solutions.
  3. Maintain project oversight, providing technical support to assembly/service support teams and customers.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and develop innovative solutions, interface with co-workers and customers, and deliver equipment build activities and delivery cycles associated with equipment fabrication/assembly/quality/tests, installation, and commissioning.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor/Master of Engineering degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics/Design.
  • Expertise in design and analysis of mechanical/electrical structures/low/high/ultra-high vacuum systems.
  • High Pressure Vessel design/construction, High Temperature Hot Zone design/construction, Heating Elements/Heat-Shield or Insulation design and construction, Heat Exchanger design/construction, Hot-zone support structure/Hearth bar design/construction.
  • Knowledge about Heat treatment, brazing, carburizing, hardening, annealing, melting, etc., and application of various types of materials, surface and thermal treatments for low/high/ultra-high vacuum.
  • Advanced skills in 2D & 3D CAD software - preferably AutoCAD and Inventor or Solid Works, 3D design for vacuum chambers and systems, Knowledge and application of numerical modelling in solid mechanics, Thermal exchange calculation / Computational fluid dynamics (CFD), Finite Element Method (FEM) and Thermo-mechanical simulations analysis, Working knowledge of pneumatics, vacuum process systems, electrical components, and automation.
