Structured Finance Expert Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structured Finance Expert to join our team. As a key member of our financial services division, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional results for our clients.

The primary responsibility of this position involves working closely with clients to understand their investment requirements in the structured finance space. You will be responsible for onboarding, monitoring, and risk management as required for our institutional clients. This includes researching and analyzing various financial and legal agreements, as well as monitoring and reporting key metrics of investments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Onboarding: Review and interpret legal agreements, understand servicer or trustees' reporting, and onboard client's investment portfolio.
  • Risk Monitoring: Work closely with clients to support them in risk and exposure monitoring of transactions.
  • Covenant Calculation: Calculate and monitor covenants, concentration limits, eligibility criteria, concentration tests, and Borrowing Base calculations.
  • Daily Operations: Assist/lead daily operations of workstreams and ensure accurate and timely deliverables.
  • Platform Data Management: Liaise with Business Analyst and Implementation team to ensure data and logic on proprietary platforms are accurate.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and guide freshers of the team to improve overall learning curve.
  • Portfolio Surveillance: Provide enhanced surveillance to clients on their portfolios and share critical aspects concerning overall performance proactively.
  • Process Improvement: Assist in standardising and streamlining processes to increase efficiencies and setting up SOPS and processes around deliverables.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Structured Finance Products: Broad understanding of structured finance products/corporate credit landscape/ABL/CLO/Middle Market Portfolio Financing.
  • Financial Modelling: In-depth understanding of core financial and accounting concepts and proficiency in financial modelling using MS Excel.
  • Financial Databases: Understanding of various financial databases, including Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Factiva.
  • Communication: Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, with strong communication skills - written, verbal, and interpersonal.
  • Time Management: Ability to work well under pressure to meet strict and aggressive deadlines.
  • Education: Desired candidate must have graduated with an MBA or advanced degree in finance like CFA, CAIA, and FRM.
  • Work Experience: Prior experience of at least 3-5 years with an Investment Bank, Investment Management firm, or Financial Advisory firm, preferably.
