Job Summary:
In this role, you will play a key part in implementing and monitoring project quality programs, providing technical direction to peers, defining system tools and procedures, developing metrics and goals, facilitating causal analysis teams, and overseeing procurement and construction activities.
You will ensure quality in high-impact activities that are critical to project success. This position involves part-time telework and requires at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of the Quality Management Plan (QMP) and communicate with project personnel to ensure management goals are met.
- Coordinate the preparation and establishment of the quality program/plans for the project.
- Train quality personnel assigned to the project.
- Oversee and participate in project auditing and monitoring to verify the effectiveness of the quality program/plan.
- Recommend actions to address observed quality deficiencies.
- Maintain client liaison and communication for project quality-related activities as needed.
- Represent the project during quality assurance audits conducted by clients, management, or regulatory agencies.
- Review project schedules for quality-related activities to ensure timely implementation of the quality plan requirements.
- Identify quality problems, initiate documented actions, verify solutions, and manage the corrective action system.
- Incorporate applicable quality system requirements for suppliers and subcontractors.
- Support the development and implementation of the Project Quality Audit & Surveillance Schedule.
- Manage and perform internal and external quality audits/surveillances and follow up on the closure of findings.
- Review and approve subcontractors and suppliers' responses to deficiencies identified through audits and surveillance activities.
- Utilize DevonWay or similar systems for Closed Loop Corrective Action (CLCA) and process Condition Reports and Recommendations for audits and surveillances.
- Verify the implementation of Best Practices and Lessons Learned, including collection, evaluation, and documentation into DevonWay.
- Prequalify subcontractors and suppliers, evaluating their quality system capabilities and controls.
- Review subcontractors' and suppliers' submittals, including quality manuals, procedures, Quality Plans, ITPs, resumes, test reports, and audit schedules.
- Conduct Project QMS orientation and awareness sessions as applicable.
- Provide training and guidance to supplier quality and other quality personnel as required.
- Develop and implement project-specific metrics as needed.
- Analyze the effectiveness of established quality surveillance systems and techniques.
- Lead and facilitate Project Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify, document, implement, and verify corrective measures for issues impacting quality and preventing recurrence.
- Report weekly/monthly progress to the Project Quality Manager.
Requirements:
This role requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Additionally, you must possess technical knowledge in engineering, environmental science, procurement, construction, testing, operations, or commissioning practices sufficient to comprehend specified requirements.
You should also be proficient in oral and written communications, providing direction and on-the-job training to assigned personnel, and using applicable computer programs.
Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and certification as an IRCA-approved Lead Auditor are highly desirable. Experience with design controls, design verification and validation activities, process controls, supply chain, construction, start-up activities, and risk management is also advantageous.
