Chief Risk Officer Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Risk Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing an effective risk management framework across the organization.

  • The Chief Risk Officer will lead the overall risk management function, ensuring the effective implementation of risk frameworks and strategies.
  • They will oversee credit risk, market risk, information security risk, liquidity & interest rate risk, operational risk, and compliance risk management.
  • The Chief Risk Officer will ensure the effective implementation of Basel guidelines and Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process.
  • They will supervise internal financial controls, information security risk assessments, and cybersecurity preparedness.
  • The position will facilitate Board and Committee discussions on Risk Profile of the organization, level and direction of aggregate and major risk streams, risk appetite, capital adequacy, and emerging risks.
  • The Chief Risk Officer will provide leadership in operational risk, business continuity planning, and anti-money laundering (AML/CFT) compliance.

Key Qualifications:

  • Graduate / Post Graduate in any discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 25 years experience in banking with at least 10 years progressive experience in risk management.
  • Strong leadership and strategic decision-making skills.
  • Proven track record of working with regulatory authorities, auditors, and Board-level committees.

Desirable Professional Qualifications :

Certification in FRM /Professional Risk

Requirements:

To excel in this role, you will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. You must have a strong understanding of risk management principles and practices, as well as the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the banking industry and its associated risks, as well as the ability to stay up-to-date with changing regulations and standards.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will need to demonstrate strong leadership and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective risk management strategies.
