About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Backend Architect to lead our engineering team in scaling up our existing architecture to handle billions of requests every month.

The ideal candidate will contribute to architecting the database/reporting layer to support complex queries and data exports of millions of records. They will also be responsible for the development of new software products and enhancements to existing products.

  • Contribute to product architecture in handling millions of requests per day.
  • Optimize the architecture for regional data zones.
  • Develop high-performance, reusable, and bug-free APIs.
  • Optimize existing APIs for performance by data denormalization/decoupling long-running APIs using queues.
  • Familiarize yourself with AWS Services like API Gateway, Lambdas, SNS, SQS, and SES.
About You

You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and scalability of our systems, as well as mentoring junior engineers. We are looking for someone with a strong background in NodeJS, NoSQL databases (MongoDB is preferred), and experience working on high-traffic applications.

  • Proficiency in NodeJS.
  • Expert knowledge of NoSQL Databases (MongoDB is preferred).
  • Hands-on experience of working on products handling more than a million requests per month.
  • 5-8 years of relevant professional work experience.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
