Job Description

The Supply Chain Manager role is critical for managing end-to-end supply chain functions. This includes production planning and control (PPC), sourcing, inventory management, logistics, and scrap management.

  • Production planning involves aligning material availability with the production plan to ensure zero downtime.
  • Sourcing includes procuring raw materials, packaging materials, and consumables in a timely manner.
  • Inventory management requires maintaining optimal levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.

A Supply Chain Manager oversees planning, procurement, production scheduling, inventory, and logistics to ensure efficient operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & Scheduling
  • Collaborate with production, sales, and central planning teams for demand forecasting and capacity planning.
  • Monitor daily and weekly production plans and adjust schedules to meet customer delivery commitments.
Procurement & Supplier Coordination
  • Ensure timely procurement of materials and consumables.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to track purchase orders, delivery timelines, and quality compliance.
Inventory Management
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to minimize stockouts and overstocking.
  • Monitor stock ageing and initiate timely disposal or consumption plans.
  • Ensure regular physical stock audits and reconciliation with system records.
Warehousing & Logistics
  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics to ensure OTIF deliveries.
  • Manage warehouse operations, space utilization, and storage safety.
  • Ensure proper documentation and coordination with transporters.
Cost & Process Optimization
  • Identify initiatives to reduce costs associated with logistics, inventory, and procurement.
  • Drive process improvements using lean methodologies.
  • Track and improve key SCM KPIs like inventory turnover and delivery accuracy.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Graduate degree in Engineering, Science, or Commerce (MBA or PG in Supply Chain preferred).
  • 12-20 years of relevant experience in supply chain or operations management in a manufacturing setup.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, MRP, logistics, and warehousing practices.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools.

Preferred Industry Background: Flexible Packaging, FMCG, Chemicals, Pharma, Automotive components
