Senior Corporate Tax Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our State and Local Tax (SALT) team. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in SALT compliance and consulting, with a strong understanding of multi-state tax laws and regulations.
- Compliance Expertise: Ensure timely and accurate state and local income/franchise, gross receipts, and other tax return filings for entities and individuals.
- SOP Development: Standardize processes for recurring returns, notice response, apportionment reviews, and nexus analyses.
- Integration and Collaboration: Partner with client service, product, and engineering teams to integrate tax workflows with internal systems.
- Legislative Monitoring: Stay up-to-date on state and local tax legislative and regulatory updates to ensure compliance and proactively advise clients.
- Culture of Quality: Implement review standards, maintain audit defensibility, and build in process checkpoints.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Strong technical SALT knowledge across entity-level and individual tax types, including familiarity with venture-backed and investment fund structures.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate tax nuances to cross-functional and non-tax audiences.
- Experience working with fast-paced startups an asset.
- Professional certifications such as EA, CPA, CA, JD, or MST preferred.
